Kim, a colleague from our team, had the opportunity to visit EXPO 2025 in Osaka and bring back valuable impressions of innovative urban development and sustainable architecture.

A particular highlight was the visit to the Austrian pavilion at the EXPO and the intensive exchange with international representatives - including from Switzerland, France and Saudi Arabia.

Urban development at the highest level!

Japan impresses with visionary concepts - compact, intelligently networked and future-oriented. Two projects are particularly noteworthy:

🔹 Tokyo Torch (Tokyo)
By 2027, the Torch Tower will be the tallest building in Japan - a mixed-use landmark with:

- 67 floors
- office space, luxury hotel & publicly accessible viewing platform

- Total area: approx. 542,000m²
- Construction costs: around 500 billion yen (~EUR 3.05 billion)
- Construction period: 2023-2027
Developer: Mitsubishi Estate

🔹 Umekita Grand Front & Grand Green (Osaka)
An urban district of the future with an area of approx. 89,000m²is being built right next to the highly frequented Osaka Station.
The project combines:
- residential space, hotels and convention center
- green spaces and quality of life in the middle of the city
Project volume: around 1 trillion yen (~EUR 5.88 billion)
